The 10th Buraq space camp was held here on Monday. Professor Dr. Atta ur Rehman was among the many dignitaries who attended the function. Afnan Arshad from Islamabad, Adil Belgaumi from Karachi, Mubeen Tariq and Bilal Shafi from Lahore shared the first prize of 8 lac rupees.
Buraq Planetary Society, formed in 1993, is the oldest and only registered society exclusively working to spread awareness and understanding of the significance of space sciences within the youth of Pakistan. The society is headed by Mr. Shahid Mahmud and is a corporate social responsibility project of the Interactive Group.
The camp and prizes are fully sponsored by the Buraq Planetary Society. The selected students are not required to pay any fees or cost to attend the camp. Similar to previous camps, the latest camp brings forty of the smartest students in the fourteen to sixteen age group from across Pakistan to Islamabad to be exposed to some of the brightest minds in physics, strategy and space sciences in the region. The students spent 11 days at Buraq Camp.

Interactive Group's technology partner Juniper networks organized an educational training program for all their partners on Juniper QFabric systems at one of their authorized education center, Spectrum Training, Knowledge Village, Dubai.
Four Networks professionals from IAC completed the trainings of Juniper Configuring and Monitoring QFabric Systems (CMQS) and Troubleshooting QFabric Systems (TQS). The certified professionals those successfully completed the course are Senior Manger Networks Salman Anayat Mirza, Team lead Networks Khurrum Razzaq, Team lead networks security Arsalan Nawaz and Hamza Burney Network Design Engineer.
The eHealth Association of Pakistan held 4th International Health Conference on 22nd and 23rd November 2013 in Karachi. The conference and event was organized in collaboration with The Aman Foundation Pakistan where Interactive Group was one of the sponsors. The conference was held to generate awareness for the "Potential of Mobile Health (mHealth) in developing countries". Shahid Mahmud, CEO, Interactive Group, presented his vision for eHealth in Pakistan, its futuristic advantages as an early warning system and a roadmap for its implementation.
Around 300 international and national delegates, including health students, IT experts, health providers, policy makers, delegates from World Health Organization and other stakeholders were invited to attend the conference. The keynote orations reflected on ways to collaborate for improving health of the population. The international conference has identified opportunities, gaps and brought new prospects for use of Mobile Health in Pakistan.
Interactive Group was invited to the business delegation convention which was named "Pakistan Days" in Berlin and Munich on 30th and 31st October, 2013. The delegation consisted of 80 representatives of more than 60 Pakistani companies from various sectors and government officials including Chief Minister Punjab Mr. Mian Shahbaz Sharif. More than 300 participants from both Pakistan and Germany sat together to discuss on deepening business-to-business relations between the two countries. The discussions focused on the search for new markets and fresh opportunities for investors and businesses in the two countries.

Shaikh Adil Gul, Technical Director of Interactive Group - having over 30 years' of experience in Information Technology, also known as the pioneer of computer networking in Pakistan presented on 'Cloud Computing' at the 3rd Cloud Pakistan Summit. His speech was to emphasise on the latest innovations in cloud security, focusing on the current implementation strategies, security issues and the future of cloud computing in the country. He highlighted different data security solutions which can be approached for cloud computing in the country i.e. Encryption and Tokenization.

Recently, Mr. Shehzad Hamid and Mr. Rana Jazib Masood from Datacenter team attended two training courses namely Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP) and Certified Data Centre Specialist (CDCS) followed by an examination at EPI, Karachi. Standing out prominently among certified professionals, Rana Jazib scored 95% in the exam, highest score achieved all across Pakistan which became a moment of pride for the entire team.
These trainings are primarily for those IT and networking professionals who are working on the key components of managing the entire lifecycle of datacentre design and implementation. With the certifications, they can ensure and improve the high-availability and agile management of the Data Centresalong with having expertise on setting up maintenance standards, raised floor, suspended ceiling, power, cooling, fire protection, cable management, environment specifications and data centre efficiency. Embarking on the tradition of sharing the learned knowledge, the two certified professionals then conducted an in-house training replicating the training sessions that they had endured at EPI, which also was followed by an examination.
Interactive Group organized an IBM business conference for its customers in Serena Hotel, Islamabad on 2nd Oct 2013. Objective of the conference was to introduce the IBM PureSystems and PowerSystems product family and how IBM and Interactive Group's integrated solutions can help organizations reduce infrastructure costs, simplified experience and optimized performance.
The conference was initiated by Mr. Malik Shoaib Naseer, PureFlex Technical Specialist, IBM who briefed over the IBM PureSystems and its business benefits. This session was followed by briefing on Interactive Group's datacenter solutions conducted by Mr. Rana Jazib Masood, Datacenter Specialist, Interactive Group.
Later on Mr. Adeel Akram, Pre-sales Lead, Interactive group spoke about the IBM PowerSystems key advantages and Mr. Abid Hussain Darugar, Manager Integrated Security & AV Solutions, Interactive Group took the audience through the security & surveillance solution being the basic need for any organization. There was also a demonstration area setup for the customers to experience the in-house development of off-the-shelf health care products designed and integrated by Interactive Group's product team. Displayed devices included different models of biometric CNIC Smart Reader, a device used for capturing and storing customer database and PONITOR (Physiological Monitor) used to measure patient's vitals and send them through any available wired/wireless connectivity medium to remote hospitals.

Applications division of Interactive Group has been appraised at CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) Level 3 performed by Mr. Farhan Mirza- Lead Appraiser. CMMI is a process improvement model which provides the essential elements to manage projects effectively which improves the overall work performance of the organization.

At this level, processes are well illustrated and understood, having described standards, procedures, tools, and methodologies. This indicates that the organization's set of standard processes, which are the basis for maturity level 3, are well established and improved over time.
Hague, October 2013: Taking the strategic partnership to next level, management team of Interactive Group and O3B Networks met at the Headquarters of O3B Networks based in Hague, Netherlands in October 2013. The meeting was arranged to set grounds for both the partners to collaborate and discuss future milestones for revolutionizing broadband connectivity in Pakistan. They also discussed the matters related to existing opportunities and challenges prevailing in the Pakistani market along with the future steps to be taken to successfully deploy the solution across Pakistan, by first quarter 2014.

Silverstone: Interactive sponsored the development of Formula NUST Student (FS) Car No. 68, an innovation which is receiving international acknowledgement. For two years on, FS Car No. 68 and its team has consecutively represented Pakistan in annual Formula Student Competitions which was held in Silverstone, UK this year.
Formula Student is the leading European competition for undergraduates who want hands on experience in an innovative racing team. Formula Student is the world's most established educational motorsport competition organized annually by Institution of Mechanical Engineering. Universities from across the globe participate in the event. The competition basically seeks to challenge university students to conceive, design, build, present and compete as a team with a small single-seat racing car in a series of static and dynamic competitions.
Interactive Group supported the Formula Student Car project as a sole diamond sponsor, with a vision to promote in youth the idea of achieving excellence through innovation. This year among 149 teams, only 90 teams managed to qualify for FS2013 at Silverstone competition out of which the only team that qualified from Pakistan was Formula Student Car No. 68. Over two years back, the moment of national pride came for Pakistan Navy Engineering College i.ee PNEC Johar, a Constituent College of National University of Science and Technology (NUST) became the only educational institution in Pakistan qualified for the competition to develop and exhibit Formula Student Car internationally.
The performance of the car has improved since last year. Formula NUST team leading the innovative project, is determined to bring more improvements next year. Pat Clarke who is a retired bike and kart racer and author of Pat’s Corner on the FSG website recognized the green team with these words undersigned by him, "Congratulations Team. A vast improvement! :)". Pat’s first FSAE event was in 1994, and he has been a design judge at Formula Student since 2000.
O3b Networks, a Global player in the Satellite Communications Technology successfully launched its first four satellites on June 25th from a space station in Kourou, French Guiana. Mr. Shahid Mahmud, CEO Interactive Group traveled to Korou to witness the launch.
